Summit Road is a groomed road that takes you out on a scenic ride above the Blue Mountains. There are a few open play areas along the way and some challenging narrow ridges to cross farther out. The Ruckel Junction warming shelter is about 9 miles out from the highway, where a Ruckel Road comes up from Summerville and another road goes down to Umatilla Forks.
