Trail Description

A short hike from Anthony Lakes with a little elevation gain puts you a Black Lake, a scenic lake that is good for camping or swimming. The trail basically circles the lake too, although it isn't that well established at the lake. The trail begins as Trail #1600 and turns into Trail #1600A where the Elkhorn Crest Trail #1611 merges at about 0.5 miles up the trail.

An alternate route to the lake is to head east on a trail from the boat ramp at Anthony Lake, which goes by Lilypad Lake and then connects into the Elkhorn Crest Trail just before the junction with Black Lake Trail.

Trail Notes

  • 0.0 mi. Start at the Elkhorn Crest Trailhead and head off down the trail.
  • 0.5 The other trail from Anthony Lake merges and shortly after this the Black Lake Trail takes off to the right up the hill.
