Indian Creek is one of the most technical and awesome mountain bike descents in the La Grande area. As part of the Breshears system, it is part of a mix of fun riding that is the climactic trail of the Mt. Fanny experience. The trail starts in an idyllic high mountain meadow with some minor stream crossings before getting serious quickly. It plunges as fast as the water of Indian Creek with plenty of root drops and rock obstacles. You soon enter the deep woods and big old growth forest and wind around before entering more great downhill sections, eventually spitting out on the Bell Creek ATV trail near the bridge crossings of the pristine waters of Indian Creek.
It takes some physical effort to find the beginning so it doesn't get ridden often. This is the only non-motorized trail of the Breshears System. We're fortunate to have some motorcycle guys that cut this out the first chance they get, even though it isn't a motorcycle trail. It usually opens in July.
