A nice uphill and downhill trail out and back to a high lake in the Smokey Mountains near Sun Valley. The trail is in good shape and the descent is awesome on a mountain bike, especially the first few stretches from the lake. It is also a good up and down ride on a motorcycle. The approach to the lake is preceded by some interesting glacial rock formations. The lake itself appears to be damned by some type of moraine.
There is no bridge from the trailhead across Prairie Creek so you have to ford it or find some logs across it, of which there was an actual "trail head" to let you know you were on track. It starts as a ATV road and then eventually narrows down to singletrack after crossing Mill Creek. Higher up you cross again.
Overall it is a pleasantly surprising ride that puts you in a pretty cool spot, all within some easy access off a gravel road a short distance from the highway.
