This short trail takes you straight to the top of Harsin Butte for a spectacular view of the Zumwalt to the north, Wallowa Mountains to the west, and Seven Devils across Hells Canyon to the east. You can see just about the entire route from the trailhead as it bee-lines straight up the butte. There is a confusing unmarked spit in the trail where the cattle contour around the mountain. You will want to just go straight toward the summit on the trail.
About 2/3 of the way up, you go through a small stand of trees. Trail confusion is rampant in there, but just try to switchback some and get spat out above the trees for a final steep climb up to the summit. There is some communication equipment at the top and a nice 360 view.
