This scenic short loop takes you on a goose-chase around some nice fenced-in wetlands just off of the main Zumwalt Buckhorn road. Look for a tall stile across the fence and a trail sign on a small pullout from the road as it crests a high point. From there it is pretty much a pasture walk through the grassland.
The trail drops down an feint road into a nice swale where you'll see the fence protecting the marshy area. Once there, you can enjoy some birds and decide your next move. The fence jacks with blue on top have some confusing arrows if you are trying to make the loop. You generally will head north along the bottom looking to follow these posts which are spaced just far enough apart you can see them. The cows have trails all over the place so you just have to work the fields and follow the posts as you circle around clockwise to come back to the trailhead.
