A relatively new trail to Moab, Pipe Dream takes off right from town. Even though there is some elevation gain going out, it is a physical challenge either direction you ride. It offers technical challenge too, with several rock-plate rides over washes and some tight switchback sections. As with most any ride in Moab, the desert views are magnificent throughout. A signature moment in the trail is riding through a tight window made by a natural rock bridge. Duck!
Pipe Dream travels along the base of the cliff ridge to the southwest of Moab, offering several entry/exits over to the highway along the way. The south end terminates in a parking area. You can also take the dirt pipeline road up and ride the trail back, or vice verse (warning: goat heads). Another option is to ride the highway up to the parking area at the south end of the trail or get dropped off there to ride the trail back to town.
Find the north end of the trail in town by turning onto Kane Creek Rd. (at McDonald's), and take the second left and travel through the neighborhood straight up to a spur trail that heads up to the trail. The trail can be ridden more to the north also, but there are some land squabble issues from my understanding.
