Trail Description

This description is for the Roundabout Spout XC Mountain Bike Race course for 2014.

Start on a cross country ski loop that is wide open for a good sort out, then an aggressive climb begins up the ski hill. Once on top, you'll find the track soon becoming singletrack as it winds along the rim above the Lookingglass drainage. At times you can see the mountains in Idaho, but don't get distracted because the trail begins working down the ridge with some technical features and otherwise screaming fast flow that will require your focus. At the far end, you'll turn uphill on an old road for a leaderboard-challenging climb. Experts and Elites will turn at the top of the climb for one more loop down the ridge and up the climb again. Once atop the ridge, the run back to the finish will require some solid power until you reach the top of the ski lift to find a signature singletrack descent off the mountain, with one short steep hop up to the finish line that will be your last chance for revenge on anyone that recently passed.

An early climb up the ski hill will stretch out the pack. Finish off with a memorable descent that drops you down to the bottom of the ski lift.
Very fun wide-open singletrack greets the participants after the first climb.
The more advanced racers will see a tough climb in the deep woods.
