Take off from near the Elkhorn Wildlife Area at the end of the pavement and ride up to the Anthony Lakes Highway. This route starts on Tucker Flat Rd. and takes you by Pilcher Reservoir, which is also a good place to park and start, or camp. It is a mostly steady effort that takes advantage of some nice bridges over the raging creeks coming from the Elkhorn Mountains. There are some mountain biking trails around the Gorham Butte area.
If you park at the Elkhorn Wildlife Area and ODFW parking pass is required, but you can park anywhere else outside of that area for free. There is also a campground in the Eklhorn Wildlife Area and one a Pilcher Reservoir. The latter is free.
